UK domain registry considers changing dispute rules

Nominet, the .uk domain name registry, is considering several changes to the current rules governing its Dispute Resolution Service (DRS), which is similar to ICANN's Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, or UDRP.

In a nod to the secondary domain market and domainers in general, Nominet notes that possible changes could include making clear that neither owning a large portfolio of domain names, nor reselling or parking a domain name is evidence of an abusive registration.

The complete proposal is available as a PDF document.

Nominet invites interested parties to sumbit their comments to a special email address shown in the PDF document. The consultation period ends 16th February 2007.
