Spanish Train Operator Launches .mobi Site
RENFE, the Spanish national railway operator, announced the launch of its .mobi portal at renfe.mobi. Travelers can check timetables, special offers and live alerts. While it's not possible to buy tickets yet, this feature will be added in the near future according to Pedro Miguel López Hernández, RENFE's director of publicity.
renfe.mobi is based on the esmeroMobilizer platform by Grupo Alma, and RENFE reportedly spent €60,000 on the website.
RENFE is already the second European train operator to establish a .mobi domain after the Belgian high-speed train network Thalys, which launched thalys.mobi last year.
