dotMobi Announces Partnership With Telecom Italia Mobile
dotMobi today announced an exclusive partnership with Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), making them an official worldwide registry for the dotMobi domain. TIM will become the first mobile operator in the world to sell .mobi domains exclusively to customers, and to extend their mobile Internet offerings to subscribers through new TIM .mobi sites. This will create a business model that has the potential to open new revenue streams to mobile operators.
The tim.mobi site at http://tim.mobi shows how organizations can expand their current web offerings via mobile web sites which are simple to develop and — via the use of set, but open, standards — improve the mobile web experience for millions of users worldwide. On the site, customers can also view information on special offers, see the latest mobile phones, download multimedia content and manage their online profiles.
