It is now possible to register .org domains that contain the Spanish characters á, é, í, ñ, ó, ú, or ü. However, it appears that many registrars have not integrated this option into their system yet. As of March 3, 2007, Spanish will join the list of languages whose special characters (á, é, í, ñ, ó, ú and ü) can be used as part of .org domain names. RENFE, the Spanish national railway operator, announced the launch of its .mobi portal at renfe.mobi. Travelers can check timetables, special offers and live alerts. While it's not possible to buy tickets yet, this feature will be added in the near future according to Pedro Miguel López Hernández, RENFE's director of publicity.
According to the Spanish domain blog Domisfera, the Sedo domain auctions for busca.com (”search” n., “search!” or “he/she searches”), empresas.com (”companies”) and economia.com (”economy”) ended without a winner today. The domain viajes.es was sold for €60,000. This is the highest publicly reported .es sale ever and an indication that the boom in Spanish-language domain names continues.
The three Spanish-language domains busca.com ("search" n., "search!" or "he/she searches"), empresas.com ("companies") and economia.com ("economy") have attracted bids of €101,000, €61,000 and €35,000 respectively on Sedo's domain auction service. The reserve price hasn't been met for any of these domains, and there are 7 days to go until the auctions' conclusion.
